Sculptural Bead Embroidery Workshop
taught by Rebecca Roush

July 11-13, 2008
Westcott Bay Institute
Friday Harbor (San Juan Island), Washington

This workshop will teach students how to design and produce sculptural bead embroidery by using some simple tools and their own natural talents. With group and individual instruction, it's three full, informative days of beadwork and fun.

Students will first learn to build up a felt form of their hand. Next, they will sew beads, sequins and other media on and around the form using a variety of techniques. Ultimately, they will create a unique piece of artwork.

To ensure each student gets all the one-on-one instruction they need, this workshop is limited to 12 students. Having the workshop at Westcott Bay Institute is going to be especially nice because of the setting in the stunning San Juan Islands.

The classroom will be outdoors, in pavilion tents at the Westcott Bay Sculpture Park.

I will contact each student prior to the class to introduce myself, answer any questions you may have, and make sure you have received the class schedule and supplies list.
