I will be teaching a three-day workshop at the Arts Council of Snohomish County in Everett, Washington October 8-10, 2010. For more information about the class, contact myself or the Arts Council directly.
The August/September edition of Beadwork Magazine includes an article about my work. The article was written by my friend Tina Koyama. I've finished "Handbag/Reliquary #2" (below) in July and will begin showing it.
I had a wonderful time speaking to the Northwest Bead Society on April 15 about on my art and the trajectory I've been traveling on as an artist. It was especially nice being among fellow bead-enthusiasts.
I have been asked by Lark Books to submit images for an upcoming book entitled Design Inspiration Guide: Animals and they said in their correspondence that it's highly likely I'll have work in the book, which is due out in 2011. In 2007, Trans Artists asked if they could use the story of my 2005 residency at the Montana Artist Refuge on their Web site. They called it "Struck by Calm". Trans Artists "is an independent foundation that informs artists of any discipline about international artist-in-residence programs and other opportunities for artists to stay and work elsewhere 'for art's sake'" (from their Web site). A friend found a news article about "Google twins", in which my Web site is called out. The article specifically called defined me as a "a limelight-stealing, attention-hogging, clearly overachieving Rebecca Roush..." Ouch. Finally, Bradford Bohonus of VR Seattle shot a VR (360 degree virtual reality photography) movie of my studio. Bradford's web site is one of the largest, most comprehensive, QuickTime VR tours in the world of a single city and includes the studios of many local artists. You can follow me on Twitter and Facebook. Last updated July 23, 2010 |
