Corvus Antiquus #1 Dimensions: 33" x 33" x 2" Date: 2006 Medium: Beads, Sequins, Felt, Embroidery Thread During my research in Columbia Basin “rock art”, I never saw an image of a crow, so I decided to create a piece as if I had seen one. |

Corvus Seattlensis #2 Dimensions: 27" x 27" x 1" Date: 2001 Medium: Beads, Sequins, Felt, Crow Feet, Embroidery Thread, Piping, Pewter Charm The body of this Corvus is made up of many swirls of beads, all the same type of black bead. The swirls have subtle variations in the black tones, and are matched by the pink and yellow swirling background of this piece. I used real crow's feet in this and many other full portraits of crows, but have stopped using them as a result of the risks of catching West Nile Virus from crows. |

Red & Black Hand #1 Dimensions: 13" x 15" x 1" Date: 2005 Medium: Beads, Sequins, Felt I enjoy beading hands. They symbolize power and I like thinking about my hands as I bead one because my own hands have done such good work for me. |

Lavender Hand Bag #1 Dimensions: 10" x 11" x 3" Date: 2004 Medium: Beads, Sequins, Felt, Mylar, Wooden Hand Bag I found an old, decoupage wooden handbag in a thrift store and decided to make a true handbag out of it. I stripped off all the decoupage and old paint, repainted the purse, and placed the beaded hand on its front. |

Ribbed Figures Dimensions: 29" x 29" x 2" Date: 1992 Medium: Beads, Sequins, Felt, Porcupine Quills The rock that this amazing image came from is now inundated as a result of the Priest Rapids Dam on the Columbia River, and I had the good fortune to meet the woman who made rubbings of much of the rock art on Whale Island before it was submerged. |
