When I first began doing beadwork, I used designs that I came across in Columbia Basin petroglyphs and pictographs. The rock that this beautiful couple was carved into now sits in an interpretive at the Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park/Wanapum Recreational Area. It was originally near the river and was removed when the dams went in.
